FAQs

when is your next shop update?

what are seconds?

a second is a not-quite-right piece that isn’t able to sold at full-price. they are still beautiful, useful, functional, and safe. there are so many reasons a pot can be a second—they might be a little wonky and off-center, have minor pin-holing, or funny little bumps under the surface we call "bloats." for each piece. the reason why it’s a second is described and shown with each item.

what is beautiful , though, is a matter of opinion; what’s unique to some might be off-putting for others. all my pots are glazed by hand and made from dynamic materials from our earth! so you can expect to see the interaction between human touch and natural material. if you are not a fan of that variation and prefer a more uniform look, my pottery is probably not right for you - and that’s okay!

do you take returns?

due to the handmade nature of my work, there may be slight variations in what the piece looks like on your screen and in person. i do my very best to take accurate representative photos of my work and list the dimensions in each description. please refer to each before purchasing a piece. therefore, i do not accept returns for any other reason than receiving the wrong product. all sales are final, exchanges and cancellations are not permitted

if an item isn’t delivered or comes to you and is broken (knock on wood) please reach out to me within 2 days of USPS declaring the package as “delivered” and I’ll be more than willing to remake a piece and send it to you. if you accidentally break an item I can totally remake a piece for you, but you’ll have to pay for the new piece + shipping.

if you have any questions about a product, please feel free to contact me!

what about shipping?

great question!

~for now, i ONLY ship INSIDE THE USA.

~if you want to opt of of shipping because you are in the ann arbor area, or you would like someone to pick it up for you, no problem! just choose the “pick up” option at checkout. you can pick up at clayworks studio, 2763 Plymouth Rd, located inside the walk-in mall. i’ll reach out to you via e-mail or text once i process your order and we can discuss a pick-up time.

~it takes me 1-3 business days to process and order. i will send you a confirmation e-mail with your tracking information once it has gone out.

~if you believe the shipping prices are absolutely outrages, you may be right. sometimes the algorithm for the shipping calculator may be off and i will refund you the amount once i’ve processed the correct amount.

are you making anymore of (blank)?

I hope to have a shop update in January 2024! in-person fairs take priority for me, so I usually have shop updates when fair season is all wrapped up. If you’ve seen a specific piece in person and were wondering if I still have it, leave me a message in my contact page! we can always arrange purchases and shipping/pick up even if it’s not in my shop.

i can’t say yes or no to this question because my style always changes and fluctuates. if you see a piece that you like, i recommend not holding out on the hope that i’ll make it again. i don’t like to streamline my work too much to only make specific things. i like to challenge myself and excercise my creative muscles. the opportunities' are so vast and i am a very curious maker.

are your pieces food, microwave and dishwasher safe?

all of my pottery items are food safe, but any pottery with 22 karat gold or platinum lustre on the surface is not microwave or dishwasher safe; if it goes in the microwave, the gold metal will pop off. the dishwasher is pretty harsh, so it will wear aware the lustre fairly quickly. If it doesn’t have gold or platinum on it feel free to pop those pieces in the dishwasher and microwave!
